Sticky about cable losses...

Well....

It'd be very useful for us newbies - and no doubt save countless 'how much does x cable lose per ft/m'....

yikes, RG58 only loses .69dB/100ft....surely that's not right

then the fool notices it's in MHz duh!

using about 2ft isn't that bad (only lose about .5dB)...hopefully my homebrew aerial will eclipse that. Not ideal, but the west of Ireland is hardly awash with LMR400

would it be feasable to butcher cat5 cable, which is rather lossless, and use that?....
