supported nic not working (roamabout)

hi all, I just reinstalled my laptop, so, pretty fresh install of 2k. I have a roamabout Enterasys/Cabletron csibd-aa. I used it on this machine with an older version of NS and it worked fine. I'm using the newest drivers but NS wont let me use it, grayed out with, "wavelan(unsupported)"

any ideas why it wont work?

thank you all, I hope this wasn't previously coverd, I did look for it

what exactly is the story with this card? I keep seeing mention of the ap. this card was given to me about a year ago.

No, I haven't flashed the firmware becuase it was working before, when it comes to firmware I def believe if it aint broke dont fix it. I suppose I'll try that.

Funny thing, my wpc11, which didn't work before (win98), is available in my list of devices but when I choose it, NS wont detect and ap's nor show the mac or crad info, like it's not actually loaded.

sigh. I'm chalking this up to win2k...

Drivers! That is most likely your problem. Try installing Orinoco drivers and see if they will work with this card, or Compaq drivers. Hp just releastd an a new set of drivers for the Compaq/Orinoco card. Installing these drivers stoped ministumbler from working with my Orinoco card. The only difference is a name change of the driver. See if you can install oder drivers.

you might want to try the winter 2002 drivers at:
http://www.expressresponse.com/cgi-b...rch_erproduct=
Also you might want to search Hp for the Compaq WL110 card drivers. You would want the older Compaq drivers, the HP drivers will not work. My Orinoco cards work with the Compaq drivers.
