Switching off diversity (1 Antenna)
I have just ordered a D-Link 1500 Wireless Access Points/Bridges.
They come with quote "Dual Dipole antennas with 2dB gain" Now these antenna are removeable (R-SMA Connectors), I want to replace them with a single higher gain antenna. From my reading of various posts I think the antenna's are probably in a diversity configuration. and If I am going to only use one of them I will need to switch off the non-used antenna. How do I do this? (Also how do I do it for a WAP11???) I have a variety of software (Amtel Utils / WAP11 Configurator / Belkin WAP configurator etc) but I have not found the setting in any of them.

MarcusJClifford,
Sure sounds like a diversity configuration. I have no idea how it is done for the DLink 1500, but for the WAP11 v1.1 you have to modify the .INI file for the Atmel utility before you get the advanced radio features like diversity. Look for one of those "WAP Hack" sites if you need to do it. On the WAP11 v2.2, it is on one of the Advanced internal web pages. In either case their is a simple choice of Left, Right or Both (Diversity) Antenna.

Answer: Use the USB Configurator
If you use the USB Utility then it gives you the option for which antenna to use for send and receive.
A bit of a pain if your AP is mounted in an inaccessable palce but still its not the sort of setting you will be changing that often. Thanks for all the help.
