yeh Iwas thinking the same thing, would be cool if there was one of those bnc connectors at the base of the antenna, and if you could remove the magnet, it would be handy to attach a 2'-3' cable, so I can discretely use the setup at the coffe shop : ( but uhh ya know, im just lazy I suppose, I could do it myself, but im just so damn lazy, and plus its cool to bitch and see if business (fab-corp cough cough) catches on, or just thinks im dumb and shoots me in the face, either way... siiiik!

LOL - Sorry for the delay in the response. There is another version of the antenna that is designed for a NMO mount, but no way to actually remove the antenna from the magnet that I am aware of. It is a good idea though..... just don't know how easy or difficult it would be to put into place... I mean it already takes over a month to get product from the factory to here, imigine having to re-design it?!
