For those with Marvell chipsets (8335)
I'm writing this just as my personal experience with the Marvell 8335 chipset.
I purchased an Airnet AWD154 card from Newegg because it's the cheapest PCI 802.11g card they had. Here's a snap of the chip off of my card: ![]() Now, the drivers on the disk and the drivers on airnetusa.com WORKED, but they were flakey as all hell. So I spent the last hour digging around to find the latest and greatest drivers for the damned thing. I know there are Asus, D-link, Netgear and a few other no-name adapters that use Marvell chips, and I know from searching here that others have had issues with the drivers. That's why I'm making a thread. I found the latest drivers on Marvell's site (buried, and under an obscure adapter name... only after cross-referencing and google searching all kinds of results), so here's the direct link. If it goes down, let me know. http://www.marvell.com/drivers/drive...?dId=122&pId=2 These drivers have worked like a charm for me from initial testing. The signal seems better and I'm not having stability issues any more. They are version 3.1.1.7, released 3-01-05, and are WHQL certified. The management utility is good too. These are only for the Marvell 8335 802.11g/b chip. Please post with your results if you use these (and let me know which card you have). Also, from google searches it seems that these have been modified to work with the ndiswrapper for Linux, but I have not looked into it much or verified. Yeah, I've been a member for years.... have definitely read the rules. What am I violating? Also, I realize there is an image of the Marvell chipset on a sticky. However, it isn't large enough to read the numbering, mine is. After searching, I had tried Marvell drivers from Asus' site and they did not work for my card, which leads me to believe there are variations in the chips... so I posted the chip that these are working on for me.
Edit: Nevermind, you can read the numbering, and it is different. Mine is the 8335 chipset. Last edited by Gr-Dragon : 10-30-2005 at 07:43 PM. |

I will see if there's an FCC sticker on the back next time I shut the system down. Edit: I also noticed that the 8335 numbering on the chip corresponds with these drivers and have updated the top post. It seems from Marvell's site that this chip was developed for use in Mini-PCI applications, whereas this is a full PCI card. Last edited by Gr-Dragon : 10-30-2005 at 07:28 PM. |

Here is a clearer shot if you want to replace that one up top. |

1. Airnet 2. AWD154 / Rev. A2 3. NHPWLG1203 Also, I think the connector is R-SMA. A Google search on the FCC ID reveals that this card has the same ID and looks exactly the same (except for the sticker they slapped on it... that's good for +5dB, right?): http://www.digitus.info/scripts/digd...N%2D7006G%2DMV Last edited by Gr-Dragon : 10-30-2005 at 08:27 PM. |
