Sure you can probably get that range with this unit, assuming that you have a clear RF LOS and you have a a balanced system.

That was kind of what I thought. The whole reason I ever got into wireless stuff was to get my Grandmother online via my broadband connection. Though since she lives in a faradays cage, and there is a house, and trees in the way, it has been difficult. If I can find a strong enough weather proof antenna/nic then I can save her from having to use Earthlink.

And I'm sure you got permission to share your connection?

Two things about that: First, if there is a house and trees in the way, then you don't have a clear RF LOS. Second, sharing your broadband is a violation of the Verizon TOS, and they do enforce it.

From Verizon? Didn't know I would need too.

She is familly, and uses about 11 minutes of internet access each month if that.

If it is really a violation of Verizon TOS then I won't do it. I have a friend at Verizon who would know better than I would.

The link you sent me takes me to a page that discusses accessing others networks.

This is my network that I am extending through my uncles house to my Grandmothers...

Relevant Data:
3.6.1 You may not resell the Broadband Service, use it for high volume purposes, or engage in similar activities that constitute resale (commercial or non-commercial), as determined solely by Verizon.

3.6.2 You may connect multiple computers/devices within a single home or office location to your Broadband modem and/or router to access the Service, but only through a single Broadband account and a single IP address obtained from Verizon.
the only thing that they wouldn't like is the multiple location part... Although if it is within the footprint of my router does it count as a seperate location?

Neither matters, as it's only good for the location where it's delivered by the provider, and they consider that a "non-commerical resale" under 3.6.1.
