Unhappy Ubiquiti SRC 300mW (Atheros) and Netstumbler

Hello,

I have the Ubiquiti SRC 300mW (Atheros) Card and Im wondering, that my Intel 2200BG shows better Connections than the Ubiquiti. Is there a Netstumbler Problem with Atheros Cards ? The Ubiquiti must be better than the Intel Card.

Who says its a better card?

As for your question about Netstumbler and Atheros, your Search-Fu is VERY weak.

/Sarcasm

You mean to tell me you didn't know that if a card puts out 300mW and you have a 3db antenna hooked to it, you will get back 900mW on the recieve end??? WOOOOOOOooooowwww

/Sarcasm off

Do you know the spec's on the receive sensitivity between the two? If so, please post them.

Output power has nothing to do with how well a unit can receive a signal.

And the 7db antenna that you have, is it that POS antenna that's listed in the Cheap Antenna FAQ?

Define "better connections". Then read the Welcome Desk and do a little searching.

The Atheros A/b/g card transmits too much noise on chan 11 at full power. You might be able to fix this problem by backing off the power. High output power does not always mean it is a better card. A 250mw clean signal is much better than a 400mw signal full of noise.
