Universal PCI adapter
I have 2 differn't pcmcia wifi cards that i want to use in a desktop computer. (in my car) I have an orinoco gold and a linksys card. I just want a card that i can put in a pc card and pull it out when i want. Also, will netstumbler still work with this? Thanks!

You want to avoid the PCI adapters with the Texas Instruments chip. They are not compatible with most VIA mobo chipsets and will cause your system to never boot. I would recommend the Ricoh PCI adapter available from HyperLink. The Orinoco PCI cards use the TI chip. Their ISA cards are fine though. VIA says it's a Windows problem. Microsoft says it's a VIA problem. TI doesn't care either way. There is no fix to make it work. Best to stick with the Ricoh card since I haven't had a problem with it yet.
I talked about this before, but it was all lost in the great crash of '02. I highly reccomend the Ricoh PCI cards over anything else. I deal with these cards on a daily basis here at work. So remember, TI = bad, Ricoh = good

Just a side note, it's a RICOH adapter card that's included with the d-link DWL-500 kit (PCI adapter and DWL-650)
Works nicely in all the *NIX I've tried so far and windows. Just though I'd mention that |
