Unsure what adapter to buy
I am looking for a wireless card that I can use with my minibox pc (PCI or USB) and I am not sure what the best cards are, I'm new to it. I've got a mini pc for my car but not laptop that works well.
I need a card that: has Linux as well as Windows lets me use an external antenna (a must of course) has good strength can work through PCI or USB would like it to be 802.11G I would like a USB, which would be easiest and I could swap between machines, but a PCI would work too, I dont think any USBs have good linux support. I know of the PCMCIA - PCI adapters but would they work in Linux too? I see the ORiNOCO Gold supports "all popular operating systems" does that include Linux? and of course, would it work with the PCMCIA-PCI adapter? I would rather buy a 802.11G wireless adapter like the ORiNOCO Gold 802.11B/G Combo Card but it says it only works with Windows, is this true or is there another card that will work with Linux? Thanks, any input is greatly appreshated. |
