Update your Dell Truemobile 1150 here !!!

http://yojimbo.kung-f00.com/1150/

I put up a web site with all the instructions, links and downloads (already hex edited binaries) needed to update your Dell Truemobile 1150 with the latest Orinoco drivers, frimware and client manager.

This was in a previous thread in another forum but I thought it would logical to post it here as well.

Cewl...

Think you can do you magic once more for the following...

Modify the Lucent ver. 8.72 Firmware/drivers to work
with the Avaya Gold card???

The Avaya is/was the spinoff Company of Lucent.

Avaya Gold firmware update

Madhadder: I can definately try and hook you up. I need you to do a reg edit search and find out what the name of your card is and the numbers after it.

The example is that for the dell 1150 the string that windows uses to reconize the card is:

Dell-TrueMobile_1150_Series_PC_Card-34F2

So it will should look like something close to that but with the Avaya name of course.

Avaya ID string...

I think I found the string for the Avaya card:

In the registry key:

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{some string of chars}\0017

ComponentId =

pcmcia\avaya_communication-avaya_wireless_pc_card-4a27

What I think would be even more helpful is if you described how you altered the firmware. I am trying to get the Orinoco 6.16 firmware to work with my Avaya card. I am more than happy to do it myself, if someone showed me how...

Sorry man if the dll doesn't end up working for you under 2K. You could still download the client manager for the 1150 from Dell and it will work. I dont have the URL at the moment if you cant find it let me know and I will get it for you.

Thats looks like the right kind of string! Your right though I need to make a seperate web page for how I reconfigured the binaries. That way people can experiment with it on their own. It's all hex editing stuff. I will make that page this weekend with some screenshots.

Looking forward to it...

P-K-

Thanks! I have been trying to hex edit some of the files myself, but am not having any luck. A site with snapshots would be helpful!
