Very Cool Book

If you want to read a very cool book check out Hardware Hacking: Have Fun While Voiding Your Warranty by Joe Grand (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...books&n=507846)

I picked it up and have really enjoyed it.

Some very cool hardware hacks in there (including adding an external antenna connector to cards that don't have them).

There is some really good info in there, and it is generally just a fun book to read. Also, the $28 Amazon price is really reasonable for a book of this caliber.

Thumbs up Absolutely!

It's a great read. I picked up my copy a little over a week ago. If you are even slightly inclined to tear stuff open, there's probably at least a couple of chapters you'll like.

Is the deal to get "hardware hacking for geeks" for cheap worth the extra money?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...168140-2527015

Thanks,

Are we having fun yet?

Excerpted from Amazon's site:
Quote:
* Have you played Atari today? Create an arcade-style Atari 5200 paddle controller for your favorite retro videogames or transform the Atari 2600 joystick into one that can be used by left-handed players.
* Stick it to The Man! Remove the proprietary barcode encoding from your CueCat and turn it into a regular barcode reader.
* Hack your Palm! Upgrade the available RAM on your Palm m505 from 8MB to 16MB.
Wow, a CueCat hack! Hopefully the other projects are interesting or relevant...

This book is just another you have recommended that I am going to have to buy, thanks guys, I haven’t done this much reading since 8’Th grade.

Knowing the extent of anothers knowledge is always helpful.

It was probably a pointless qustion anyway; I'm too poor a student to buy a single book, let alone two. The only books I read should be related to my course, and that's only if there's no cool journal articles on the subject.

But anyway, I'm wandering, it's late; drugs have been consumed.

Thanks for your help,
