What hardware?
I remember a piece of hardware mentioned on the board some time back, but can't remember the name of it. Someone was using it to recieve 900mHz video signals I believe. Kind of looked like a little watchman TV thing. I think the guy that came to hook up my cable the other day had one. Dumb question to most of you probably, but help me out please?

You are probably talking about the x10 stuff... IC-R3 - Handheld Audio/Video Receiver http://www.icomamerica.com/receivers.../icr3main.html -- though you may want to read more about it in the following threads, some members have claimed that it isn't elite as it sounds.. http://forums.netstumbler.com/showth...t=x10+receiver http://forums.netstumbler.com/showth...t=x10+receiver ![]()

I own an r3 and can tell you that it sucks out of the box. Standing right next to one of my x10 cameras, signal received on the unit was subpar. Also, while speaking to an ENG engineer (and standing right next to his remote truck) I was unable to pick up his remote feed (and I had the exact frequency).
So if thinking of buying one, consider adding another antenna and preamp. Also, note, no direct entry of frequencies. And, so far, no descriminator mod (that I'm aware of; keep hearing about it, but ain't seen one yet) |
