Where oh Where has my router gone?

Hey all,
Orion and company thanks for all the help earlier.
I had to reclone my machine and i installed all updated drivers. blah blah blah..anyways, the problem is that i can see my ssid but when i try to connect to it it just hangs out and looks for other routers....Or if i use the gui, i will see the little router icon but greyed out, not in full focus.

I have the router set to ch 11,took wep off/put wep on,unfiltered/filtered it by mac, moved the phone across the room.

using the xp version of wireless software like linksys says. Still no connect, i can see it, but still no connect.

thanks all for help

You set up to connect to preferred networks only? If so, you'll have to add your SSID into the list before XP will connect you.

agentgrn, thanks for the quick response...

in the xp box i have it setup on the bottom with the SSID = AllYourBase and i have WEP off...

on the router, i have AllYourBase = SSID and wep disabled
mac filtering off.

when i refresh the settings i see it...but when i click on it to connect, the connect button greys out...or in the linksys gui the router icon would grey out...any idea?

You think NetStumbler will help connect?

What exactly do you mean by this?

If you are able to associate on the wireless level, yet cannot get the web, see the rest of the network, etc. it may be this is a networking protocol problem (TCP/IP, etc.) rather than a wireless problem? Typically the IP address or netmask (or something similar if using a different protocol) is not set correctly with this type of behavior.
