Wireless 802.11b Cameras

Has anyone out there played with one of these?

I've seen the D-Link DCS-1000W in a local store but it was a bit pricy. I see that JustDeals has a Sceptre CAS-200W which is much cheaper at $299.

I like the idea of a wireless camera for a new toy but it really isn't wireless since it still needs power. That got me thinking that a wired IP ready camera running POE would have just as many cables. From there I could interface to a wireless lan if I wanted.

Just looking for any more ideas before I write off the wireless thing.

I've played with the wired version, it has a static IP you can set and its ready to go. Its cool for the first 30 minutes. Being able to control the camera position and zoom would make it a lot more interesting, particularly for video conferencing. Not sure what wireless brings to the party.

JVC has a nice digital camera (wired 10/100) color
with Pan.Tilt,15x opical zoom etc. etc. if you use
POE you will have only 1 cable, I do remember
that they were also a bit pricey ($300/400) but
I would bet that they are better than anything from D-Link.

Here is a Pic of one.
