Following on from Prophet's posting with his custom machine grip for his yagi, excellent piece of kit.
(http://forums.netstumbler.com/showth...&threadid=3028) Has anyone else had any ideas as to what would make good handles/grips for a yagi? Especially for a Orinoco 14dbi yagi. As I have one arriving this week and still unsure as to what to use for a handle? Thinking of maybe ripping the handle of a toy gun etc? Thanks |

Check out the underwater lights at your local dive shop. Many of the larger Underwater Kinetics brand lights have replacable grips.

Jubilee CLips?
Just popped to the local hardware store.
Brought myself 2 jubilee clips, I wooden handle and a L Shaped bracket. Going to cut the handle and screw it to the L shaped bracket and then clamp bracket this round the Yagi. My question is: Will the Jubilee CLips effect the performance of the Yagi? What if I put insulation tape round the Yagi where the clips will go? (The clips are definitely not made of alumimum). Thanks |

Do It All
Changed my mind about the metal brackets - instead went to Do It All and brought a wooden L Shaped bracket as a handle and taped this round the base of the Yagi. Covered it in white insulation tape to match the colour of the antenna and everything works ok!
Total cost for handle £6 inc tape ![]() |
