AP Motherboard

Postby systemd0wn » Thu Jul 05, 2007 5:31 am

Does anyone have an idea on a micro motherboard that gets its power from Power Over Ethernet or takes 12v so that i can use a POE splitter? I have used the WRAP 2E Board from: http://www.mini-box.com/WRAP-2C?sc=8&category=19

Just wanted to see what others were using for their home made APs.

I have a WRAP.1E-1 Board here that was originally purchased to be used as a light weight web server for a project that never got started. Whilst trying to find a good use for the thing I discovered this little guide to get Debian on it. Now it runs kismet.

I like the WRAP boards but they are 'End of Life'. http://www.pcengines.ch is coming out with the ALIX boards, which look good. I was just wondering if there was an alternative to those WRAP boards, or anything that pcengines.ch makes.
I have seen some MIPS based boards and for a fair price... Just going to keep looking I suppose.

Thanks for the link! I am thinking of running Open WRT on whichever embedded system I pick.
