D-Link DSL-G624T

Postby shamrock365 » Wed Jun 06, 2007 7:41 am

Hi,

I recently got a D-Link DSL-G624T from a friend. He was throwing it out so I took it off him in the hope of doing some tinkering with it. I know its LInux based and has an GNU GPL license attached to it. Does anyone know if there are alternative firmwares for them? Especially a Captive Portal style?

Many Thanks.

/me looks at the forum title "www.netstumbler.org" Nope, can't spell "dlink support" with those letters.

Smart person. I'd run over it with a D9 cat a few times before it hit the trash can. Or maybe a half-a-dozen rounds from the .300 Win Mag.

You have to shoot at it a half dozen times before you hit it? I'm pretty sure there isn't going to be much left after the first hit.

Nah, six hits. The chunks just keep getting smaller...

So here's a question. Will a tracer round set off thermite?

I think it would if you could prevent the impact from scattering the powder. Tracers are pretty hot.

Sure, pack burlap sack full of thermite, shoot burlap sack with tracer round, watch burlap sack go boom.

ya know, speaking of blowing shit up.. I just thought of some Myth's for Adam and Jamie.

We've all seen on TV how they shoot different explosives to blow them up, which ones really do blow up when shot?

Thermite
Dynomite (old TNT Based and the new stuff)
C4
Jar o' gasoline
Gas Tank (they already did it, but it needs a revisit)
Ammonium Nitrate
Ammonium Perchlorate

They shot a gas tank on one of the cars to see if it'd explode and it didn't go boom. That was the myth where it's supposedly safe to hide behind a car door in a gun fight.

Yeah, and I can tell you from experience, you DO NOT want to hide behind a car during a gunfight if you can avoid it. It may offer concealment, but it sure as hell doesn't offer cover. Bullets pass through cars with about the same effort as they pass through paper targets. If you have to get behind a car, get the engine block between you and the bad guys. That's about the only thing in a car that can absorb impacts from a bullet.
