ExpressCard/54 slot cards?

Postby Swerve » Tue Apr 08, 2008 4:23 pm

Hi,

I've decided on the new laptop I'm going to buy, but it has no pcmcia slot, it has an ExpressCard/54 slot.

I was hoping to get an Orinoco Classic card but I doubt they are available for this type slot. So am looking for some recommendations on what's the best route to go down. I'm looking to use both NetStumber and Kismet.

Thanks!

Look for an adapter.

eg.;

USB adapters for PCMCIA and CardBus cards

Express Card to PCMCIA Adapter - SW-7429, $109.95

The only thing my ExpressCard slot is good for is the little remote control that stores itself there.

I have one of those sitting right beside me now. POS' keyboard quits working after about ten minutes. I've taken it apart and put it back together three or four times now, still does it. That's the last computer I buy at Sam's club. :mad:

Take it back and complain. They'll give you your money back.

Sam's is trying to be like Costco.

A friend took back a 3 year old Averatec he kept having trouble with, they gave him a full refund.

You usually have to take it back to the store you bought it in. In my case this is 4000 miles and 3 years too late. Probably need a receipt too.
