Will a Broadcom chipset based card like the new Buffalo or Linksys 802.11g work with Netstumbler?

I cannot get it to work at all with my built-in wireless. It is a Compaq Presario 3000 series laptop and the integrated wireless is labeled "HP WLAN 54g W450 Network Adaptor". It, too, is a Broadcom device.

The OS is XP Home, and this is a brand-new latptop, less than 24 hours old. I cannot get Netstumbler (version 0.3.30) to see my existing Access Point at all, which works fine, because I am using that right now typing this message on my other laptop.

And of course the Compaq support to get the 54g devices to work with legacy 802.11b networks is the suck. Anyone who has a Compaq with the integrated 54g and has it working on an 11b network, please help.

hate to bring this back from dead but I just happen to just check this forum again after a while and installed netstumbler on my new Presario 2580us with HP W450 G built in card, and kinda surprised its working. I can pick up my mr814 AP.
