Damn son, I bet you put the strongest sun protection on before you go outside also. Nobody made fun of you, flamed you, ate your children, drank your beer, (I don't have your address for the last one) :)

You recieved solid responces and if you do a search for n00b, you'll see that we're BBQ'd ppl cajun audit style when they deserved it.

OK, let's try again.

In fact I have a rather thick skin and I generally don't react like that to similar traffic on BBS's or NGs. I just have a rather low tolerance for the kinds of attitudes I sense here regarding newbies asking for help. Especially when I did in fact read everything I could find regarding NetStumbler and was also not the only one who was unable to find the answer. A simple addition to the NetStumbler FAQ about the Proxim thing would solve the problem, would it not? It would never have occurred to me to register to see more forums either.....

Yes, I did get some solid answers and I think I can take it from here. Thanks.

Good sugestion about adding to the the FAQ, I'm quite sure that the mods will see it and take it under consideration. We have no problem helping people that do the research and from what I've seen you'd done it. Believe me, if you didn't you would've been BBQ'd as what's been done in the past to people that don't research. This isn't [Newbie 101] and if you've seen some of questions that have been posted here before, you'd understand why some of us are tired of hearing the same thing over and over and over again.

We welcome new people to the forums and always help out when possible, it's the people that I mention above that get under our skin.

It also doesn't hurt to simply and kindly direct a newbie to the appropriate FAQ instead of barbequing them. Other than venting personal frustration on someone, being anything other than friendly serves no real purpose.

And FWIW, I have done as much homework as I can stand for now and I still don't really have the full answer. I suspect that is because the answer is still developing regarding making some non-supported cards work. Who knows. Maybe I'll come back and report success...... I'm off to see what I can learn about NDIS-5. Looks like that might be the answer for the DWL-650+. That or using the "wrong" drivers.
