using non-airport card (Orinoco Wavelan) - KisMAC?

Postby dgoss » Mon Jan 20, 2003 11:57 pm

I have a tibook with internal airport but want to use external card (PCMCIA) so I have easy access to my external directional antenna. Is KisMAC the only stumbler that works with non-airport cards? Tried iStumber and MacStumbler but both won't see my Orinoco PC card. Just downloaded KisMAC but haven't tried it out with the card. Are there other solutions? Thanks!

Hi,

KisMAC is currently the only program, which supports external cards on a mac. however, currently we only support prism2 cards. actually orinoco cards are found and initialized, however there is a wrong flag set somewhere. i will investigate that when i have more time.

You are lucky. I uploaded just the latest unofficial release of kismac. it should work with orinoco cards. it can even do the deauthencation attack with it. just give it a try.

the url is http://www.binaervarianz.de/projekte/programmieren/kismac/KisMAC003b.dmg.gz

Wow you are fast :-)
I have to work doubles for the next few days. (I have no local network to check my card out). Hope to test it very soon tho.

Thankyou for posting (and working on it:-)

I think that my last donation kicked the "buy Mick a freaking GPS so us sob's can reap the benefits" over the top. Keep us posted!
