My IPAQ 3870 and a Zonet ZCF1100 work very well with ministumbler .4. I used the Zonet ZCF1100 driver found on the US site.

Configuration:
IPAQ 3870
MS Pocket PC version 3.0.11171 (Build 11178)
Network driver 2.00.03 Date July 2 2002
Configuration Utility version 2.00.02 Date July 2 2002
NIC Firmware version 1.03.06
Ministumbler 0.4

Ok after going through hell to get the appropriate drivers (Prism 3.0) and going thru 2 failed installs I managed to get the SMC 2642w up and running on my IPAQ 3955...

At this point I have managed to get WiFiFoFum, PocketWinc, and MiniStumbler working with NO PROBLEMS. Anyone know of a good packet sniffer to use?

Airscanner works on PPC 2K2 only, other than that take a look at vxSniffer from cam.com. Or Pocket WiNc from Cirond.com.

The D-Link card appears to have a very sensitive receiver. On the way to work, I was able to find 100 APs, with my iPaq inside the cab of my truck. I am not sure that I have seen this good of results when using my Orinoco Gold, iPaq 3765, and an external mag mount wireless antenna.

Are you using PPC2003 or PPC2002
I have an Acer N10 with PPC2002 and DCF-660W which will only be recognised by the system if I use version 1 driver. NS does not see the card "No Wireless" is displayed at the bottom.
Also when I reinstal the driver I have lost my utility in system menu.
Any ideas?

Working how...through the internal wi-fi or with an SD card since that slot on the X30 is sdio. I'm sure that those that can't get it to work are very interested in hearing what you did since internal wi-fi is finicky with MS and sdio support is limited.

Dell Axim X30:

Wireless card: Integrated Dell Truemobile 1210 WLAN module 802.11b
ROM: A05

Works like a charm with Odyssey client running in the background and power managment turned off. Works with bluetooth GPSs as well.

Senao website "404 error"

Postby DaveFromThePeg » Tue Nov 23, 2004 10:25 am

The link to the Senao website only offers a "404 error".

iPaq 3850 with Pocket PC 2003 (or WINCE 4.0).

Would anyone know of a wireless card that works with this setup. Also, would I be correct in assuming that some wlan cards will work with ministumbler 0.4.0 even though the manufacturer doesn't supply Win CE drivers??

Thanks for you help

I have it working great with my H-Paq 2200 and a Linksys WCF12. To get the linksys card working with PPC 2003 you will need to download the Senao dirvers

http://www.senao.com/service%20&%20...%20download.htm

Linksys does not make WM2003 Drivers as of yet. The Senao drivers work fine. The only problem I have right now is the configuration tool that comes with the drivers will not run. But it's not that big of a deal for me since WM2003 will now recognize the card, allow's me to connect to wifi networks and Pocket warriror works with it.

Once at the senao website download the WLan_ForWinCE400 driver. Run the installer and then do a soft reset. Then power back up and insert
your Linksys card. The OS should give you and "Unrecognized card" pop-up.
Enter 'wlannds.dll' (without quotes) into the input box and click 'Ok'.
Your link light should now be flashing green and you will be notified of the
existing 802.11b networks within range (if any).

Going to 'Start->Settings->Connections->Connections' will also let you see
networks w/in range.

Or at least that invalid link...

May I also suggest you get familiar with this site so you can post in the proper forum. And while you are at it give the search feature a try.

I am running the older Dell AXIM X5 Pocket PC using Windows Pocket PC Version 2002. I dont have a wifi card but i plan on getting one. I was just wondering with ministumbler, will it automatically detect networks and connect to them? Since i am using PPC 2002 do i have to configure in order to access the network or can i just click somthing and be connected???

Thanks

I have also a Dell X5 but with PPC 2003 as OS and it works very fine MiniStumbler.
I use the Dell TrueMobile 1180 CompactFlash card. Also a very good one and supported by every wifi-tool a came across so far.

The Dell wireless utility that comes together with the card has the feature to connect to every available network.

So you just have to walk around an when a network is detected it asks for connection.

In the same utility there's a menu item called 'Site Monitor...' which does the same as MiniStumbler.

Of course MiniStumbler rocks... ;) ...(GPS, more detail, more extensive,....)

Sandisk 256MB SDIO+ Wifi successfull!

Postby sepker » Mon Nov 29, 2004 10:22 am

Hi everybody,

I've seen a lot of people on this site with the same problem I had... MiniStumbler doesnt work "well" with the sandisk 256MB SDIO+Wifi card.

I had the same symptoms like, only finding the first AP and then not finding any more... Also had it that it only saw AP's I was assosiated with and whatever else..

allthough I saw the sandisk wasnt officialy supported, I'm a stubborn and wanted to see WHY it didnt work.. I thought here should be a way since it DOES recognize the first AP or AP's i'm assosiated with...

I found a tool on wififofum.org that disables the WZC .. Guess what, the moment you disable WZC, the sandisk works PERFECTLY!

So now when I want to connect to a AP I just enable the WZC and soft-reboot... then when I'm in the car and wanna drive around, i disable the WZC, poke the PPC in the bum, and off I go... Haven't had a single moment since, that it didn't work.

Just thought I mention this, cause there are more people like me that only HAVE the option of the Sandisk (since in The Netherlands thats the only SDIO that's being sold, and I HATE creditcards)

Greets and have wun wardriving :)

PS. My pocketpc is a MIO 168 Digiwalker thingie, (integrated GPS)
