I have a interesting Config Question. If Posible

Postby wolvorine4 » Tue Mar 06, 2007 4:51 am

I want to configure NetStumbler to pick up not just AP but WiFi cards in the computers...

Is this posible to do...

My $7,000 Laptop (Dell XPS M1710, Fully Loaded) was stolen a couple of days ago and It has a WiFi card built in, I want to use this program to find it... Or another if available.

I have the MAC address's of the cards in my Laptop that was stolen...

Is there a script out there so I can make this posible...
Willing to Pay for such of Option or Addon...

Kismet can do that. NS cannot.

WinPCap is NOT an adapter! It is software (free software)... You should have used that link I posted!

And to save you from further embarrassment just remember this is not the Kismet / WinPcap support forum.

I already have the software... I can download it for free...

But the software is looking for the adapter...

Link to adapter:
http://www.cacetech.com/products/airpcap.htm (They Call it a "Wireless Capture Adapter")

Looks like a little USB Dongle... 1/4 way down the page...

Also, Do I need the Network Toolkit??? its $40 for single download...

I am quite familiar with the AirPcap adapter (I have 2 of them).

WinPcap is not an AirPcap adapter.

Sounds like he needs the ORiNetsys Silver Gold Combo with the Prithermes chipset (and the Proxlink drivers).

Either that or this.
When I was your age, television was called books. And this is a special book. It was the book my father used to read to me when I was sick, and I used to read it to your father. And today, I'm gonna read it to you.
