NetStumbler 0.4 available, finally

Postby marius » Wed Apr 21, 2004 12:14 am

It's been a while, hasn't it?
NetStumbler 0.4 is now available for download here. Read the readme before downloading, if you like.
Noob bashers, you will have to adjust your attitudes to the new floods of FAQs that have not even been asked yet.

A sincere thanks you for this new version. I had recently purchased a "supported"classic gold card. Now I can use my dlink g card as well( if I understand the readme correctly)
Thanks again for all your hard work.

Now....since both flavors of 0.4 are here, where are all those that clearly stated they would be happy to donate if the software were updated?

I must be dreaming......

Wait.. The D/L is going..... And it's not Apr. 1st
so it can't be an Apr. Fools joke...

Marius, thank you very much for the new version. I know that it must have
been a PITA to get out (2yrs or so in the making). No to mention the many
hours spent on this project.

I would like to Kick-ya some $$$, do you have any other method besides
Paypal? As I will never ever use this POS company... Will you take a
money order... I'm sure there are many other people who would also
do this....

Mods/Old timer's: Man, this is really gonna screw with the "Card not
Supported" and "Wait for the next ver." questions from noobs...
I'm expecting a new wave of Noobish questions soon...

As much as I hate to say it but we all (at least those of us that didn't beta test) take a small step backwards into n00bism as far as v0.4 is concerned...most of us just know how to deal with it.

To the two users I flamed last night:

I'm sorry. Your cards now work, we are all very lucky people.

(P.S, if you were expecting a flaming but didn't get it, it was probably deleted. That's what I'm told anyway.)

The one thing I miss is that pretty chart of supported cards. I guesss it is going to be located here. http://www.stumbler.net/compat/ Onward... for card testing... I guess we are all noobs again. Thank you! BTW, the help file looks like it has great potential.

Marius:
Thanks from Canada.
I sure could have used this version last July for my 12000 KM drive.
And yes, 0.4 is running on NT4 with an Orinoco Silver. It has stopped stopping!

I just search NS4 for "all your base/scripts are belong to us", but, I couldn't find anything of the sort :( My search for the hidden NS message shall continue.

Just so everyone knows. I did a couple of quick tests.

Kismet files converted using the new version of WarKizNiz can be opened with 0.4.
Those same files can also be exported summary and imported into StumbVerter successfully.
Old 0.3.30 files can be opened with 0.4.0 and exported summary and opened/mapped with Stumbverter.

New ns1's genereated with 0.4.0 can be exported summary and successfully imported into Stumbverter.

All in all it looks like the proggies I like to use most with NS all work perfectly. I will perform a similar test with MiniStumbler 0.4.0 this evening (unless someone else does it first) and report result.

Excellent work Marius.
