netstumbler on windows 98se

Postby SouthernPride » Fri Nov 05, 2010 9:42 pm

well I have a windows 98 laptop that I mainly use for wifi stuff, but when I installed netstumbler, it just flashed on the bottom bar that there was no wireless card inserted even though there was.
the card I'm using is a cisco aironet 350 series lmc350 if it helps.
Is there anything I'm missing or is it unsupported?
if its unsupported, can someone please post a link to an older version that does support it.

Win98SE is not supported. NetStumbler readme

Nope. The author doesn't want older versions released.

Another alternative to windows 98 would be to install Linux on it, you could use Kismet then.

I love it when Linux is the ultimate savior. :D

Where is a list of supported USB chipsets for Netstumbler v0.3.30 ?
[from v0.3.30 Release History: '(NetStumbler) Support for USB devices on 98/Me']

I have Netstumbler v0.3.30. You can find it using Google.
I have Netstumbler v0.4.0 also. It runs under 98SE; it just wont work,
just like the docs for it warn you! Hence the need for v0.3.30 !
