Greets!

I recently purchased a laptop, Toshiba Satellite 335CDT. Here's the specs:

233MHz Pentium processor
160MB RAM
3.8 GB HD
Battery lasts about 2h45m
USB and Infrared port along with the general serial/parallel etc.
Floppy & CD drive
2 PCMCIA ports

Currently I'm installing WinXP to it because I had alot of Linux issues with it, I'm planning to run WinXP for the main part and throw in Knoppix and PHLAK when needed. Any experience in using Acer WarpLink USB WLAN devices? I've noticed the vendor-supplied drivers fail under XP, but I hear there's an open-source alternative that works. I'm not sure if it'd even pick up much since it's just a little box with no antenna, so I'm considering buying a better card, most likely PCMCIA with antenna attachment or something.
Most likely won't use a GPS.

Welcome aboard. The Acer adapter is uses the Atmel chipset if it's the one I'm thinking of. That chipset is used in many other USB adapters so chances are good that you can use the drivers from another vendor. Check the list at the AVS site for the comprehensive list.

Sup past-Dave? *waves*
Just an update that there were some unrelated legal issues in 2006 and I no longer possess this laptop. I'll get back in the game some day, especially now since I'm 20 and employed.

Wow, it took you six years to come up with that remark. I was completely happy and content and all my emotional scars had healed after there wasn't a single reply from you. ON YOUR OWN THREAD! And now you've just HAD to post! And for what?! It wasn't some beautiful story about falling in love with an Amish girl and giving up technology. It wasn't that you became a monk and gave away all your worldly possessions. It was to let us know that you don't even care! That's it! We're through! It's over! Just take your pixels and leave.

But, seriously don't revive zombie threads again or I'll put a 55 gallon drum of Kordek MLX in your hot tub.

Jeezus-Kee-rist on a pogo stick...

Replying to your own dead-assed 5 year old thread AND late by 3 years with the "i got pwned legal issues" crap.

It's too early, fuck it.
