He's been talking about since January. So, finally after 3 long agonizing months we get a new version.
You know I was thinking if Marius were to just publish a .deb we'd all be happier. Maybe he wants us to test it in a known environment first.

beakmyn wrote:Just exactly how are you going to remaster a compressed Linux distribution using a Windows program?
Wouldn't that be akin to summoning Satan?
King_Ice_Flash wrote:Woah... Didn't know it was compressed... Actually, I WAS gonna open it with WinRAR and edit it... But... N/M... Actualy, the thing I was getting at was I didn't have the ability to WRITE ISO files before I got Alcohol. Nero, CloneCD, & Sonic could write CDs from ISO files, but not make ISOs...
beakmyn wrote:You could open the .iso with WinISO and you'll see a 697MB file named Knoppix. That's the compressed image that get decompressed on the fly into RAM at boot/usage. Anyway, remastering a Knoppix/debian distro requires that it be installed to the HD then you transmorgify it and re-pack it. It's all on the Knoppix/DSL forums.

Fadein. Berlin, rain pours on cobbled strets. Camera zoom out.
It is a dark rainy evening. The Berlin wall is lit up by the multiple searchlights. A lonely dog howls on the other side of the barbed fence. At a darkened scarred brickbuilding just outside the controlzone, 2 men sit and waits in silence.
Tension is clearly high in the room, as the men continue to wait in silence. Camera zoms out from one person to cover the room, then into the other
Suddenly there sounds 2 hard knocks on the door, followed by a moments silence. The men stiffen, and barely draw a breath. Then 3 fast, softer knocks follows.
The tall man, who could be mistaken for a Pro linebacker, if it wasn't for the enormous hairdo which never would have fitted underneath a helmet, rises and opens the door, while the other rather sickly looking man at the table, lets out a clearly troubled sigh of relief.
A young man steps in through the opened dor, looking like the archetypical Mad Scientist. A wet haircurl tries its best to point straight upwards in a triangular towerlike form, despite the the amount of rain which have drenched the man.
The man, wearing a polyester shirt with a white plastic shirtpocket protector containing 4 different pens in varying colors, and a laptop bag slung from his shoulder, where several funny looking antennas sprouts out in different directions, proceeds to the table, and sits down.
He smiles that funny smile which tends to fit on all persons with the clearly natural californian suntan, that he also have.
At the same moment the cellphone next to the footballer type rings.
Picking it up, he flicks it to the speakerphone setting and a mellow wisened voice, which sounds like coming from a grandfather asks: "Now that we all are here, are we prepared to undertake this dangerous mission ?"
In unison, The footballer type, the sickly looking guy, and the mad scientist fellow say as with one voice:
"Hell Yeah.. Netstumbler.org MUST have an Aprils Fool Event...."
Fade out to black sign with white text : "I want to believe...."
Cast and credits roll out:
The sickly guy - Dutch : Concept, Directing and Producer, script, readme file.
The Footballer type - G8tk33per : Proofreading, screenshot, additional material.
The grandfatherly voice on the phone - Thorn : Executive Adviser to the Producer. Technical Adviser.
The young Mad Scientist fellow - Marius : Executive Producer, copyright owner, Proofreading, Technical service supplier, Host.
No goldfish were harmed during the planning and execution of this event.
And the crowds go wild at the Berlin Film Festival....
Gentlemen, you have all been well and truely owned..
