Interesting thread.. I just purchased a GPS and Live in Perth WA.

I will also attempt to get a good working GPS/NS working in Australia, please PM me your progress if you have tried.

Welcome aboard!

Check the webmaps on wigle (http://www.wigle.net) for the Perth area. I've been down there a couple times with my snifferkit and found a bunch, although it has been a couple years now, and considering the proliferation of APs in that period of time.
