Since getting my Orinoco card, I've started to become a little obsessed with stumbling around here. Lucky for me, I'm currently working for the county schools as a substitute teacher, so I'm often sent out to schools in the middle of nowhere.
There are points all over Stanislaus county. Far more then I would have guessed. I love driving down little poorly paved roads with endless dairy and sheep farms, and discovering some farmer has a WAP running. It makes up for the otherwise very dull (and smelly) drive. Also, going into the 'downtown' of some 'town' (nothing more then two rural routes intersecting with a few buildings), and having the computer light up.
I'm also discovering that here in Modesto, I can almost always pull of a main street into a neighborhood and find live points. There has to be at least 700-800 in this town alone.
There also appears to be some sort of WISP running here, with very powerful points (I can see them for miles). Very neet.
So far I've found around 250 points in the county, with about 100 of them 'new' in the Wigle database.
I'm looking at taking a day trip up to Stockton to do some driving, and am still up for meeting up in Sac.
