I looked at the pictures in one of the first posts and I have a question.

Do you drive around with the laptop on the passenger side FLOOR like that? How are you supposed to see the screen and do things while driving or stopping somewhere?

Or do you just drive and then look at everything when you get home?

DAMN!.....ok. It's generally not a good idea, and quite illegal in most U.S. states, to be looking at the screen while driving. You can turn up the volume and if you don't hear anything for an extended period of time, pull over and check things out.

  • Most, if not all states in the US have laws prohibiting distractions in the vehicle. NY does. I've studied the laws and I know them better then some of the cops do.
  • It's more discreet this way
  • Less sun glare
  • More stable on the floor then the seat
  • If I should get into an accident it won't be a projectile
  • I don't care what it's doing while I'm driving, I'll occasionally glance at it, at stoplights, but other then that I wait till I'm home
  • I'm a neat freak when it comes to my car and it bothers me on the seat

I think California even has a law that states a laptop cannont be running in the vehicle in view of the driver.

Hell I shut the lid on my laptop. Keeps me from trying to look at it! I'll pop it open at traffic lights every now and then to see if it is still going, no sound. :(

LCD Proc

But, it'll probably be awhile since I'll have to learn how to get the thing to talk to mysql?? I'll probably end up buy a Lilliput display instead and mounting that.
