Tripod...

Postby Thorn » Tue Apr 16, 2002 3:45 am

chrislebeck,
The rest of us see a placeholder image, which reads:

"Image Hosted by
tripod
www.tripod.com"

That's why you received "Tripod sucks" messages. It isn't even a hyperlink to your image. I would suspect that if you are a Tripod user, then you get the image, while people who use other services do not.

Cheers

Actually it's a Toshiba - and the image shows for me without a hitch - and I don't use Tripod, so that's not the cause.

Yup, getting the Properties and then cutting an pasting the address works. Very strange. fordem, could your ISP have some association with Tripod? Mine is an independant, and I don't think they have anything to do with Tripod. Obviously, there is something preventing at least some from seeing it without a hitch, while causing problems for others. Very strange.

Cheers,

Tripod checks referer

Postby khenriks » Sat May 04, 2002 7:55 pm

Tripod checks referer so they won't let you embed images off site. Once you view it on your own (copy/paste the link) it's cached in your browser then will show up in the forum page.

Cheers
