The old setup was a Thinkpad 770ED with a Belkin wireless card, hooked up with a serial cable to a Magellan GPS.
This time around things have gotten a little fancier:
- Motorola MW-520 mobile workstation
- Dual Gold Orinocos
- NETGEAR 9dbi Omni
- NETGEAR 14dbi Panel
The Motorola is a 500mHz P3 with 256mb of RAM, 20gb hard drive and a built-in Trimble GPS unit. It also comes with an ELO based touchscreen running at 800x600 with 32bit color depth.
The dual Orinocos are nothing special, picked them up cheap ($20 for both) on eBay. They're the Lucent Orinoco variety.
As for the NETGEAR antennas... Those are on a lengthy loan from my workplace. Once I find another antenna solution I will be replacing those.
I'll have to snag pictures once the design is finalized, the compter is mounted, however the antennas were ghetto mounted in order for me to go for a quick drive down the street.
On the drive I managed to snag up 126 access points. The stumbler files for those can be found on my site (Index of /stumbler).
