Netgear Support

Postby Crusher01 » Fri May 30, 2003 4:44 am

I just tried out netstumbler 0.3.30...apparently Netgear devices are not supported (I have a Netgear MA101 USB on my desktop, and a Netgear MA401 (PCCard) on my laptop, neither of which was recognized by netstumbler). Please add Netgear support!

Two things:
1) Read the README.HTML which came with NS. It shouldn't be any surprise to you that the current version does not recognize the NetGear equipment. The README clearly states that.

2) NS v0.4 will be out in several within several months, and less than that if we're all lucky. It should (according to the author) support the chipset the NetGear cards use.

Hey man, im running an MA401 just fine and dandy with good old netstumbler, works fine and get a semi-decent range on her too, i think theres problems with the USB edition but they should be addressed in the next release of stumbler, as for the MA401, get the latest drivers from the netgear website.

I, too, am still on Win98SE on both my desktop (HP Pavilion XL766-PIII 733Mhz) and laptop (Gateway 1420-PII 400Mhz).

Does the 'latest driver for Netgear MA401' apply to XP or 98 or both?

You just don't get it, do you pal. You started off on the wrong foot...or hoof, whatever applies..and yet you continue to be a lurking pain in the rear. I think HITMONEY says it best with this little gem:

My, my, still continuing the personal attacks. Oh, well. I may have reading problems, but it may just be that I do know more than you.

spasiba, before you continue to make a fool of yourself, please take the time to read this
FAQ Thread, Second post. You may not like it, as that particular post (as well as much of the other FAQ posts) was written by me and you seem to have taken a dislike to me. However, the information is true. I would urge you to read the whole FAQ Thread, as well as the other FAQ threads and forums. All contain much good information on the operational details of NetStumbler in particular and WiFi in general.
