bsd-airtools problems

Postby macppc » Fri Sep 15, 2006 5:33 pm

Hello... I installed bsd-airtools on the macppc version of netbsd. I am using a linksys WPC11 card, and Kismet works fine. My problem is that dwepdump will not capture any packets, prism2ctl will not put the card in monitor mode, and dstumbler says something about ioctl error. If anyone has any insight or ideas, that would be great. I dunno if this is the best forum for this topic. Maybe there is someplace else I can post as well? I would really like to get this working.

Thanks!

Which version of the card are you using?

OK, dmesg says...

wi0: using RF:PRISM2 MAC:HFA3841 CARD:HWB3163 rev.A
wi0: Intersil Firmware: Primary (0.3.0), Station (0.8.0)

I hope that is what you were asking for...

ok, I just figured out how to flash the firmware, and I now have 0.3.0 primary, and 1.5.6 station firmware.

The version number is actually printed on the card. If you can't find that how about the FCC ID # (also printed on the card)?

OK... FCC ID: 07J-GL2411010700

...Seems that it is a version 1 card with a prism II chipset?

Thanks for your help

so, so far my guess is that my problem is actually netbsd. From what I can tell bsd-airtools is way out of date, and most of the other tools will not build on *bsd. Does anyone else have any other ideas? Or maybe some newer *bsd software? I can capture packets with kismet or wireshark, but I would like to get a packet replay prog working.

Thanks
