Knoppix Users?

I have decided to use knoppix on my laptop secondary to XP, so my partitions will be:

Windows XP
Windows Data
Linux Data
Linux Swap

If you've never seen Knoppix before, you should try it out, it fits on one CD and has alot of good features.

Knoppix

I tried the CD, but since it's mounted read-only and I can't log in as root, I can't change some files to get my USB wireless card to work. Does Knoppix have a non-CDROM install ?

On my laptop I didn't have to create any linux partitions. I just run knoppix off of the cd.

Have you tried running airsnort from this bootable CD ?
If it works, what type of wireless card do you have? USB, PCMCIA? and what model, thanks.

I have a TI-ACX100 based card. It is not supported by Linux yet. :(

If you want other software, you can make your own custom bootable CD... it does come with AirSnort though. I have actually ditched this plan and just installed mandrake instead :)
