Well, this is my setup for now:

Toshiba laptop, celery700
Orinico Silver
NS
Magellan 315 (waiting for USB-serial port adapter to arrive)
No external antenna yet, building it

I work for the city government as inspector and when there are no complaints to follow up on, I am expected to "drive around" and patrol my sector. What a great occasion to have NS running in the background :)

This is the inside of my service van, equipped with a nice laptop holder.

And the view from the back

(notice the sandbags over the rear axle? Yep we get real winters here :) )

I'm really digging that laptop holder. You got a make/model/link?

I looked at one of those, and it's a bit of a borderline overkill item...but very nice indeed...particularly if your system is shock sensitive.

They aren't cheap though...here's a link to my favorite:

Mobile Desk

They have a number of models to choose from, but the featured one looks like the ExtremeDesk:

Not bad if you got around $400 extra to kill...but I prefer my modified M300...which I'll post pics for in a few days.

I'll have to check it out on tuesday when I get back to work from the easter break :)

It's the same kind as what is used in cop cars for the laptops used as MDT's.

We were supposed to get some MDT system of our own so they installed the holders in our vehicles a few years ago but the laptops never materialized :)

Agentgrn ... yup looks a lot like that!

I hope the rocket scientists who engineered that thing have a good legal staff.

I like your laptop mount! The other image posted should come with a life insurance policy.

I'm using a mount from Scientific Dimension Inc. for my laptop. It's a light-duty mount and isn't too invasive for the passenger.
