Hey, I am setting up a mini WISP I have a linksys WAP11 24dbi antenna and I am using the PoE setup. Here is my one issue. I would rather run CAT5E cable (instead of coax.) to my roof since I get it for $0.35 a foot. I have been searching and I can't find a good NEMA enclosure. I looked everywhere, eBay,froogle....and so on. If anyone out there has a good site or place to get one let me know. Thank you
Corey

You're most welcome hahe51. Here's a photo of a Linksys WAP11 in one of the 12x12x6 boxes; PoE, too.

It is pretty much exactly what you're trying to make. It should give you an idea of what can be done with one.

I constructed the unit, took the photos, and assembled the image. Check the copyright. ;)

The unit is currently sitting out in my lab. This was v1, v2 is currently under construction. Some minor improvements are incorporated into v2 such as waterproof Cat5 pass-throughs and panel mount N connectors.

Actually, its done for copyright purposes. I have a couple of Intellectual Properties attorneys in the family, and tend to be sensative to those issues. (Maybe overly so! :)) If I was going to be blatant about it, my Signature and User Info would have reflected my website and email from the beginning. The URL would have been in the image too, not just the business name.

My intentions have never been to blatantly advertise on the NS forums for a couple of reasons: I don't really feel this is the place, and I'm not paying bks and aFR to do that. On those half dozen or so occasions where there has been a potential business interest to me, I take it off the public forums and on to PM and email ASAP.

I went to Home Depot today and I found a box. When I asked for a NEMA Box they where like umm I have no idea what your talking about. Then this guy got all intrested into what I was setting up. I really didn't feel like explaing it. I don't think I got the right box, but it was the best I could find. It's called a Screw Cover Pull Box, with punchouts. I think that these punchouts will be a problem because even for the ones I don't punch out theres still passage for water to get in. The box is 10x10x4 which seems to be an alright size for the AP. It only cost me 14.95 so I just got it. Let me know what you think about this. I was think of ordering so weather proofing tape from fab-corp. Are there any obstacles I am going to run into if I do use this box. Thanks for helping.
Corey

-edit returning box tommorow. There is to much entryways that werent visible at first.

Try your local electrical supply shop. They have LOTS of different boxes designed for outdoor use.

The SKU/Barcode on the 12x12x6 is E989R (top) 34481 06699 (bottom). Good luck.
