Does the police use 802.11 to communicate beteween cars? well i don't know if it is true,i was in a town net stumbler can only pick up a certian network in some places, i stopped at one of the places and i connected to it and it has the internet,. so windows remembered that i connected to it and it was stored for automatic connection, so the next day, i went to school as normal, then i had to goto work after school, and work is 30 minutes away from my school and it is all in the country and i get right out of the town that i work at and i look over at my laptop for some reason and i see that messenger just signed in. It was that same network that i connected to the night before, but it was 20 miles away!. I always scan when i drive and netstumbler has never picked up that network there. so i was wondering if it was a police network?

When you stumble you need to DISABLE all the automatic Inet
programs and TCP/IP....

PS: Nobody here, will come to visit you in the Clink....
But perhaps you will find out if the Police have Wifi.

chloran,
It is illegal to connect to networks that you do not have permission to join. It is stupid to then admit that illegal activity in a public forum that has active law enforcement participation, especially when you consider that your IP is logged. If you are going to continue committing such crimes you may wish to consider the advisability of posting about it.

BTW, a simple search here or in Google will show you that more than one PD has use for 802.11 communications. However, considering the shear number of APs with default settings, it would seem more likely that you two of those in different locations.

Oh for christ sake, Will you PLEASE Get a goddamned clue you moronic throwback of evolution.

What town are you in, screwmydogandsister, USA? I mean come on now, this is getting just plain stupid. Do you even know where to disable TCP/IP so your not able to connect to these networks? What if it is a police network and they setup something to catch people attempting to do this? Go visit THIS site and memorize everything on it before you go out again.

1. Please call into work and tell them that your a assclown that has no sence of responsibility and you can no longer work.

2. Then go screw your goat or whatever farm animal that you have.

It is illegal to connect to networks that you do not have permission to join.

As Thorn has pointed out, you have just admitted a crime on a public forum where plenty of law enforcement personal visit daily. I'm quite sure that the moderators would have no problem handing out your IP that IS logged to them.

Oh, in case you missed it before. PLEASE Get a goddamned clue you moronic throwback of evolution.

What they said

Also police use a hybrid UHF system from motorola. Small towns might use 802.11 stuff because the motorola system is $$$$

oh so what if my ip is logged, i don't have the internet at home it is impossible to get high speed there, and we don't use regular telephones so i can't even get dial up, and if you do give them the ip addresses that i have used, what are they going to do arrest the whole college?

No. It is very likely they would just arrest you.

Go away, thief.
