Anyone war driving in Akron/Canton area? Just got my card and will begin to grid out the area. Wireless is pretty big in my area, so I anticipate finding many AP's.

Found!

Driving around where I work (Canton, Ohio - Belden Village area), I found 10 AP's. I found 4 on one street. A couple backbones...one is SKYLAN.com which is actually 400feet away from my work place. Any others in this area?

Oops

I've started doing a little stumbling around Wayne Co.

Using a laptop, Avaya Gold, external omni antenna, switching to a high gain patch antenna when needed, and gps. The gps is a recent addition, so I'm going to go re-stumble the APs I've found to get lat/lon.

Several APs found in/around Wooster. See, potato farmers need wireless networking too.

Found some Cushcraft 90 degree corner reflector antennas with cables at the Cleveland hamfest recently. $5 each. I bought 2. The cable has RPTNC connectors, so they plug 'n play with linksys AP.

No far away

I'm based in Stark County, so not far away at all. I have the Avaya also. Just picked up a Yagi to point and shoot w/. Waiting for my mobile ant to put on my Expedition while driving. I'm gonna map around Canton/N. Canton area this weekend w/ GPS.

Yo, I live in Oxford (gonna do a run through this weekend) but it would be nice to see what you've covered in Cinci since I work downtown. Got a site to post your results on?

I've not got anything up. Yet.
The county engineer's office was nice enough to send me a free 36" x 48" map of the county, which I've got on a wall. Downtown and UC have so many APs that I ran out of space for map pins... Last count produced around 300. Need to look into the convertors.
I just did Harrison over the weekend, and am missing a fair amount along the Ohio, as well as the east side.

Anyone in the area that wouldn't mind helping me get my NS setup, I would appreciate the help. I'm buying a GPS, Orinoco Gold, and a mag mount antennae soon, anyone want to help me out and/or join in the fun? drop me an email please.
