I find it amazing that so many networks in the area don't have WEP on. Most of the AP's I find are Linksys with the default SSID.

Does anyone know about the AP's with the SSID surfhere? I googled it and found a thing about gas station Hot Spots but the gas stations (Connor/76) in the area won't talk about it. They say what is WiFi? :)

The other SSID I find all over the place is routeMI. I think it is for the WisDOT but I haven't found anything relating to it on the web.

im in the la crosse area, Zoodled the routeMI's you are picking up in milwaukee are the city buses, i figured that out last time i was in milwaukee. usually when an AP says surfhere its another wardriver that will let you use their AP thats why they use the SSID "surfhere"

Surfhere was some toshiba pay per use thing, usually used at McDonnalds if I remember correctly. I like the "Transit Master" that the the buses in Waukesha County use.

I'm in the Rhinelander area myself, but after a disastrous divorce, I lost several thousand $ in RF test and measurement gear, not to mention the antennas, cabling and programming hardware and even more.....

Now, I'm trying to make a comeback, but with the two antique Compaq LTE5300 slabs, I'm having dificulty with getting my D-Link cards to initialize and "see" the programs, and like always, NS can't see my cards as they have not been configured by the D-Link software, so I'm playing with this when I have the time...

I just got the Northern tool catalog. There is a pretty good selection of solar pannels in there, for a reasonable price. If you don't have the catalog, you can get one http://www.northerntool.com

I am located in Muskego, roughly about 10 miles from Milwaukee. So far I have covered Muskego, Hales Corners, West Bend and Waukesha, mostly wardriving but I warwalk as well. My AIM is Klaiviel.

Hey, I'm completely new to this, but I'm in Appleton too... I'm going to go explore the site to figure out what it's all about, but yeah if there's anything in Appleton I'd be interested too.

This appears to be a really old topic... but perhaps someone will stumble upon this. Here is a link to maps that my boyfriend and I have done in the past couple years.

Either it's a shittily written script or it's doing something it shouldn't be doing.
