For those of you who did not already know, the netstumbler.org seti group is now up. We need more people.

The group is called "Netstumbler.org Seti CPU donation."

Now that SETI has gone to BOINC, they said that they had copied all of the teams over to http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/ , however, I can not find the "Netstumbler.org CPU donation" team. I don't remember who created the team, but they may have to create or activate the new team.

That was, if I remember correctly, Dutch. He seems to be absent of late, however...

They are having MAJOR issues with their network. It sucks with the new version. It takes atleast 24 hours before you get credit for you work.

Boinc Client 4.05

If you have not already done so, it is time for a Boinc client upgrade. Version 3 clients will no longer work. Unfortunately any pending version 3 work you may have to upload will be lost.

After fixing a few inevitable gotchas, we are back up with the major version upgrade to 4.x. The servers may be slow in responding as all clients will be getting a new supply of work. Everyone will need to download a new core client.

They must have done something right, they fixed their clock (it's not the 27'th). I got a full cache of work units after about 3 hours of trying (probably because all of the other users DOSed their servers).

The boinc server farm is having hardware problems and so the servers and website have been turned off. We'll post an ETA for coming back up as we know more.

Didn't see this one comming. They must be running Windoze servers. They got more downtime than uptime.

I noticed it last night when I had directory browsing rights on their servers.

We are investigating the Win98 hang/crashing issues in this Thread Please check it out for any updates.
NOTE: This bug puts your machine in a state that causes you to reset your machine in order to be able to use it, this in turn can cause disk corruption. We recommend that you hold off executing BOINC on Win98 and WinME until thiss issue is resolved.

THIS BUG COULD CAUSE DATA CORRUPTION!

Which is why I still run Classic Seti@home... ;-)
The old Classic Seti@home group is still running, and is listed in the first post in this thread.

Just my 0.02€'s worth...
