A HUGE thankyou to Beakmyn for coding this absolutely fantastic utility! Any serious wardriver simply should not be without it. Not only has it recovered 100% of the APs in several corrupted NS1 files I had, but it strips all the excess crap out of the file (namely the numerous occurrences of the same AP with all the different signal levels, etc. when all you really need is one entry, for each AP, with the strongest signal for plotting). This results in significantly smaller filesizes after re-saved from this utility. A 1024kb NS1 file ended up at 45kb and still contained every AP, all the pertinent info about each AP, the gps coord's, etc. Our master NS1 file -- where we have merged ALL our smaller files into one for records purposes -- went from 29.2MB to 2.3MB !!

Outstanding, and extremely appreciated! Thanks again!

If you are doing a site survey that "excess crap" is quite handy! But if you are just playing around wardriving then you are correct the "excess crap" is useless.

The latest Beta is up on the website in the betas folder. It now has printing.
Currently the page margins are hardcoded but papersize and orientation should work. I've only tested Letter/landscape

This is basic printing with Headers, wep/nowep icon and text and page number. It handles the columns per page issue also.

Future version will include a grid and footer with more info such filename.

Test it out, give me some feedback.

Exactly... hence why I said all you need is one entry with the strongest signal FOR PLOTTING -- on a map... wardriving. :P

Great tool!!

Alright. Final Printing version is up!
You've got gridlines, orientation and page size. Although I've only tested it on 8.5x11 potrait and landscape.

Graphing

If you're interested in Graphing the APdata (like in NS) take a look at Beta 0.0.21
It's pretty raw right now, and I know the Date/time overlaps.

0.0.22

I've added an option to import and fix wififofum files wififofum ns1 issues

Remember to turn off ActiveSync's file conversion:
Activesync
Options > Rules > Conversion Settings
Uncheck Convert Files when synchronized, copied or moved.

Otherwise Activesync will add nulls into the SSID and I'm checking for this yet.

Version 0.0.42

MAJOR Updates

The New Ns1 File Recovery AND conversion utility.
Major Updates

Features:
  • Repair Corrupt Files
  • Clear the APData to reduce file size (eliminates SNR graph)
  • Replace Blank SSID with Custom SSID
  • Strip out Non-printable characters from SSID
  • Open Wififofum ns1 Files
  • Perform Batch File Processing
  • Print

Export to the following formats
  • each AP to it's own .ns1
  • Text file
  • Wi-Scan Summary
  • Google .KML (with BSSID or SSID as Name)
  • Excel

Google KML includes the following info for each point (user selectable*)
  • SSID
  • BSSID
  • Type (ad-hoc, bss)
  • SNR
  • Name
  • Channel
  • Flags
  • Beacon
  • Datarate
  • IP address
  • IP mask
  • IP Subnet
  • LastSeen Time
  • FirstSeen Time
  • Latitude
  • Longitude

Download it today.

Due to the nature of the recovery algorithm large files may take some time open and parse.

*KML file format can only handle so much data so for very large files you may not want every option selected. This is limitation of Google Maps not my program.

In the installation directory is a file called icons.zip export this the proper directory in order to have the images in Google Maps
