* Modicon Tech support after we flashed an Ethernet module with firmware they supplied, and the web interface failed to function afterwards.

** Allen Bradley tech support after we couldn't connect to a certain CPU via ethernet. Tech's claim that our firewall, on the otherside of a T1 was causing us not to connect to it, even though we were plugged directly into it with a cross over cable.

*** Multitech Tech support after we spent an entire day trying to get a pair of LeasedLine Modems to function, even hooking them up back to back they'd take forever to connect.

Usage:
**There is one Incompetwat she's got an Indian accent (but she's in the US) who argued with me for 45 minutes that I had to completely re-write my PLC code and not use UDT (user defined types, structure of objects) because that's what was causing my problem. I tested every scenario and figured out the following:
If you opened each screen once they would load fine (5 screens which used lots of memory) but if you opened the same screen twice it would take 30 seconds for the screen to populate (1/5 the memory usage) It was a memory management issue in the hardware.

I was very close to use using naughty language with her. She was absolutely sure it was a problem with my code. She wouldn't admit there was a problem with the hardware but 4 days later a new firmware comes out fixing this exact problem ! And her response when I call back was "Why didn't you install the firmware it was available?*" "I could have strangled her". She never did apologize to me.

*The response should have been because you Incompecunt the firmware was in internal testing and not publicly released but if you had been smart enough to realize this you could have released the firmware to us as beta and our fscking problem would have been solved!

But I digress

Since our shop deals with radios, microwave gear and other RF based communications, I found this flash of insight to be appropriate after a visit from our boss:

"Adminispheric Interference."

Seems pretty much self explanatory to me...
