Set of nice tools for wireless networking

I have spend the last couple of days looking for, downloading and evaluating many different tools that come in handy for working on WLANs with the iPAQ (or other PocketPC that works with MiniStumbler and/or WLAN card).

Here are some links:

- PocketLAN: Lets you browse and map network shares without any 'server'-side software (like with PocketLANce), gives you IP information.
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_deta ... ociateid=6

- vxUtil: Set of IP tools, like ping, port scanner, DNS lookup, IP calculator, traceroute, whois, etc. - and it's free! Works really well.
http://www.cam.com/vxutil.html

- Webscan & Portscan: A vulnerability tester, checks 300 known holes in web servers, and a nifty port scanner.
http://www.interrorem.com/software/

- Tools not really worth the stretch (IMHO, your milage may vary): PocketLANce (needs a 'server' program installed on the PC), Vieka PE Net Explorer (doesn't see the network properly, at least with anything I tried).

That's about it for now - I'm still looking for a Hex editor for PocketPCs, is it that hard that nobody has made one yet??? If anybody knows of one...

Cheers,

Mother

Hi

oh there are some more :-)

e.g this (not only good for stumbling):
CEWebServer (a small www server)
ftpsvr (a small ftp server)
ICQ (use the PocketPC version!!!)
IrcCE (IRC client)
ScottyFTP (FTP client)
sshce (ssh version 1 client)
Telnet Force (telnet client)
vncview (Viretual Network Computer client, nice if you want to control your desktop from your PDA)
Ultraviolet HTML Editor (to build the html files, not only, for your CE webserver ;-))
don´t forget something like PocketDivx or PocketTV for MPEG, ASF, AVI or DivX stream´s!

i don´t know where to download it from the web, but i thing google would be a helper.
i have all of them (and also vxUtil) on my Casio Cassiopeia E-125 and i find there are very usefull.

Here's how to get around the limit on the number of connections with sshce1 (ssh
client for pocket pc)

In the registy, put a big value (like FFFFFFFF in hex) to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/mov Software/sshCE1/CEPSTSSH3Servers

Packet Sniff

There is a good sniffer out by Epiphan Consulting, but it's a little pricy. It does have a limited demo available tho.
