I have a ZyXEL ZyAir G-300, which netstumbler seems to dislike. It will start, and sometimes run for a couple of seconds, detect any networks etc. but then it will crash and no longer respond to anything. I have tried this on 2 separate computers.

Corega WLCB-54GT with N.S. 0.4 got some problem

OS: xp home sp1
xp pro sp1

corega WLCB-54GT (Prism GT)

NDIS 5.1

If it can scan APs, everything is OK.
If it can't scan APS, the cpu usage will increase to 100%.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Just so everyone concerned knows, I have moved the latter part of the thread started by a really simple question that's been trodden on, FAQ'd etc. for years, and turned into flames. The rest of the previous messages stay, as the thread itself is of interest and was started by Marius.

Cheers,

marius wrote:Be warned that NS 0.4's Atheros support is poor. Yes, it works, but the driver has the annoying habit of reporting everything it's seen in the last 2 minutes, rather than what it can see right now. NS 0.4 works around this but it may cause APs to appear and disappear.

Use an Atheros card in NDIS 5.1 mode to see it without the workaround. It's scary.

Will this bug be fixed in the next versions of NetStumbler? Or does anyone even know why this card has this behaviour?

I hope to get an answer,

Sascha

Wish I could say the same Marcus. NS wont recognize my Linksys wpc54g ver.2 card.

You have to do any tweaks or anything to get it working?
Anyone got ideas?

BTW, I'm running Win2k Pro SP4 on a Dell Latitude LS.

Note to g8tkeeper: This post was exactly where it belongs, it was in direct response to someone stating that the card DOES WORK. If you move my post It won't be seen by the people I want to see it. Please don't move it again.

Compaq iPaq USB 802.11b Adapter Not Working

PostPosted: Mon Feb 21, 2005 7:44 pm

Would've like to have sent the Compat rept directly to the author, but when I launch NS, it immediately kills my working (and only) net connection via WiFi. Anyway, if this does make it to him, here's some info about the adapter:

Compaq iPAQ 11Mbps Wireless USB Adapter
HNW-200
FCC ID: MXF-WL280
Windows XP SP1
256MB of RAM

NS repts the adapter uses an Atmel chipset, but that's coming from the Device menu. Personally, I wouldn't know.

In case some other unfortunate soul is stuck w/ this clunker as I am, I've discovered that once NS kills the wireless connection, shut down the program and disable, then immed re-enable the WiFi adapter via the Network Connections folder, to recover wirelessness w/o a reboot.

Later, y'all....Jet
