It can't be slide rules weren't invented until the 17th century! Archemedes was long dead by that time.

Sorry, I must have gotten it confused with the Antikythera mechanism.

The software doesn't work here :( It says: Undefined variable. Its because I miss the file: knsgem.prg.

Could someone post it or something??

Thanks.

The error was produce because your file didn't contain any valid gps data.

I'll have to fix so it doesn't generate error with no data.

Love the tool - fantastic output, especially with Kismet. Can you tell me how to import wifihopper data please? Also would love to access the links on the KNSGEM page (http://www.rjpi.com/knsgem.htm) but none of them work.

:)

Thanks for the flowers.

I believe with wifihopper you need to save your logs in NetStumbler NS1 format. Use the ns1 file with knsgem. Keep in mind wifihopper only records just a few GPS readings for each network recorded, which means you won't get a very good coverage plot with knsgem.

All the links should be working, except the bug report, as there aren't any known bugs at this time.

Scruge,

FYI. I just finished my draft for the wireless chapter for "Penetration Tester's Open Source Toolkit" (2nd.ed) Although the book is geared toward BackTrack, I gave KNSGEM a shout out as another tool for plotting wireless data.

1. Once the boundary folder is loaded you need to activate by checking it.
2. Insufficient GPS data. Knsgem needs 2 or more data points greater than 20' apart. Usually indicated by square tower.

You might try the current beta, although it only fixes a few bugs with Kismet files.

If you continue to experience problems, email me a copy of your ns1 file.

Hi Scruge,

I'm having a simular problem where GE is only displaying square towers for the locations and no bounary limits. I'm guessing it's because of a lack of GPS data.

Is there anyway I can determine if it's because the GPS receiver I'm using (BU-353) is not outputing the correct data or if there's a problem in the conversion process?

Thanks
