I got bored last night while i was delivering papers so i turn on my laptop and set it in the car with netstumbler runing. I managed to find 42 wireless networks in the corse of my 6 paper routes. Now I want to setup a wardriving rig, something other then my Linksys pc card with its internal antenna. But I am rather clueless as to what I need or want. If anyone would care to point me in the right direction I would appriciate it. Thanks.

You need a compatible card, ideally with an external antenna. Orinoco or similar cards are ideal.
If you search the forums you can find out what type of pigtail, cables and antennas you will need for maximum range.
Also if you are able to run linux, Kismet is a very good piece of software. It will detect some APs that Netstumbler cannot.
A compatible GPS combined with a suitable mapping program will make presentation of the Access points fun.
Best bet is to read, read, read and read. Google and Search the forums, and you will learn lots.

warlinux can be got at
http://www.wardriving.com
However, it has slightly lost it's appeal to knoppix-std. For was linux, search here for "Iwpriv eth0 monitor 1 6", that is, of course, if you plan to use an orinoco card.
