i use DLink AIRPLUS DWL-650+ on WIN XP Professional Sp1.

It works fine... I have picked up 41 unsecured networks today on a 15 minute drive.... wow. but i dont know what the point really is because i dont get connected to anyone's AP. it just lets me know what's available. maybe that's the point.

Just to add to our confusion, D-Link modifies the hardware in their products to meet their price/availability needs, but without changing the model names.

I happen to have a DWL-650 Rev. P. This is a new, 16-bit card, based on the Prism3, and is the 5th ... that's right, 5th completely different version of the DWL-650. That doesn't include the 32-bit Cardbus version(s), called 650+, or any of the G versions either.

Luckily the Rev P seems to work fine with NS 0.3.30 in NDIS 5.1 mode with W2K.

works

I have installed the 650+ on XP pro sp1a on multiple occasions.
For some reason I have had no problems at all. I have used many different drivers successfully, and using the NS software has been no problem.
My latest Drivers are v. 3.07

The card I have has the atheros chipset, and since the netstumbler v0.4, yo have the option to use ndis5.1 or the native chipset with NS. I think the card works better with controlled via the chipset that with ndis5.1. Also this only applies to w2000~XP
Thanks Marius to make a such great effort to support as many chipsets as was possible.
