Another tard tool. We ban asshats using this all the time. So far you're two for two.

info_5404 wrote:As for the account, may I suggest googling bugmenot? I might also recommend the excellent firefox plug-in which you might find can save you lots of time every now and again.

This is as useful as tits on a bull. It's simple. If you don't want to join a forum, don't join. All this kind of thing does is create more work for the mods and admins.

Just when I thought Firefox was only good. I guess it just goes to show that any good tool can be misued, but that kind of add-on for FireFox is the kind of thing that could drive me back to recommending IE.

info_5404 wrote:Of course I understand your point on multilingual users, however you might be surprised to find that in the last few years the internet has progressed quite beyond AOL and chat abbreviations are no longer limited to it. I do not use a lot of chat abrivs, only some words (such as the above) and a couple or others (that I would be seriously surprised were not known to computer users of other languages). You might also be interested to know that chat abbreviations were around before this world was plagued by the likes of AOL. Abbreviations such as 'soz', 'lol', 'lmao' and similar cropped up quite a few years before (though were not as widely known/used) and can be found occasionally of some archived BBS posts.

I would be only to happy to kill some time further discussing this with you, but it may be appropriate to create a separate thread so as to not go off-topic.

Sure, there are lazy, immature and stupid people who misuse language all the time, and they certainly existed long prior to AOL. However, AOL has allowed the Great Unwashed quick entry to the Internet. AOL or not, that doen't mean that they or their lazy excesses should be tolerated.

Posted the following over at the BugMeNot site's forum :

Gentlemen,

Over at the NetStumbler forums, where I fucntion as a moderator, a site that doesn't require registration in order to read posts, but does require registration in order to submit posts, we've had problems with trolls using accounts listed here at bugmenot.com.

As a result of the trolls, all the accounts for the NetStumbler forums listed on the BugMeNot site, has been banned on the NetStumbler forums. Daily checks are now made and any n[ew NetStumbler forums accounts listed will be banned as well.

As the NetStumbler site doesn't require registration in order to read content (except for the Newbie Bin section where trolls, stupidity and flamewars end up), and as the registration process for the right to post messages on the site doesn't ask anything except a valid e-mail address for the verification, I personally feel that the accounts for the Netstumbler forums being listed here, are outside the original intent of the BugMeNot agenda.

I would like to request that all the NetStumbler forums domains be added to your site block list, to avoid users abusing the BugMeNot system to flame, troll and otherwise post drivel over at the NetStumbler forums.

Thanks in advance,
