FYI...

I just ran across this earlier today. Its still an alpha release but I think its going to be very promising particularly since I use OpenVPN as my VPN server of choice for secure remote access into my home LAN...

I have not had a chance to test this yet but hope to later today or tomorrow...

As always...YMMV...

I have done some initial testing over a 56K dial link from my iPAQ 5555. Comments are in this thread on the Broadband Reports VPN forum...

Update...

I now have the PocketPC OpenVPN client tunneling all traffic, including web surfing/mail/etc, through the OpenVPN tunnel to my home LAN. See this for information...

Unfortunately ActiveSync through the tunnel is not working...Hmmm...

As always, YMMV...

Where's the conclusive recommendation, and the how-to ? We are waiting.. ;)

Since the program is still Alpha I have been reluctant to come out and say this is a must have...

With that said its working pretty well and just needs a little bit more polish...

So if you want to try it I have links to the program itself and working configuration files at...

I am getting ready to test the latest version, ie. the 27 April 2006 release, that fixes an issue with not being able to password protect the user key file. Hopefully I will get to the library later this morning to test remote access from there...

More later when it happens...

Update...or that's why they call it an alpha release...:-)

The new release fixed the key password issue as advertised...It also killed internet access through my server...I can still connect to the server and access files, but not the internet...
